Kick-Off Scramble & Meeting/Dinner

Tuesday, April 14th – 4:30 Shotgun  (Chairman: Chris Cerrato)
9-Hole, drawn scramble, with a tournament meeting to follow at 7PM 

 

 

Opening Day Drawn Four-Ball

Saturday, April 18th  - 8:30 Shotgun  (Chairman: Chris Schrank)

Format:  Modified scramble with each team selecting its best drive.  Players will then play their own ball into the hole.  Each player’s drive must be used three times. This will be a NET event that will consist of three separate tournaments.  The first tournament will be the net best ball of the foursome.  The second tournament will be the second lowest net score of the foursome, and the third tournament will be the third lowest net score of the foursome.  Each foursome will keep three separate scores: Low net per hole, second low net per hole, and third low net per hole. 
An optional buffet lunch will be served after the round. Entry fee $8.00.

 

 

Men’s League

Begins Tues., April 21st  (No League on 5-26)  (Co-Chairmen: Greg Wolff-Tim Heaney)
|To enhance the enjoyment of the evening, members should contact their partner and opponents to set up a time for the match.  Contact numbers will be provided with the flight sheets.

Saturday, May9th - Tee Times assigned by committee  (Chairman: Jim Connors)
Members may select their own partner or the golf shop will pair them.  Flights of 8 will be determined by combined handicap.  This event will be a two man best ball with one exception: You and your partner’s scores will be combined on the par 5’s.
Gross and Net winners
Entry fee is $10 per man, with kickers for $2.

Wednesday, May 13th - 1:00 Shotgun (Co-Chairmen: Frank Leone & Chris Cerrato)

Take part in any of the one-day Member-Guest for $95 per player.  You may invite one guest or three.
If you sign up as a twosome, you do so at the risk that you will not be paired up for the event. Entry fee includes greens fees, carts, dinner, and prizes for both net & gross, on-course beer, fruit, refreshments and events. Lunch and Gross/Net Skins Game are optional.

 

 

Cornish Cup (GROSS) & Memorial Trophy (NET)

Saturday & Sunday, May 23 & 24 (Co-Chairmen: Tim Heaney & Jim Connors)

These championships are 36-hole, 2-day individual stroke play events held annually on Memorial Day weekend. The Cornish Cup is named after the architect of Ellington Ridge, Geoffrey Cornish, while the Memorial Trophy is named in honor of the Memorial Day Holiday. All competitors play the white tees and are eligible for either trophy but cannot win both. Gross will be decided first.  The committee will determine pairings and tee times for Saturday. Sunday pairings and tee times will be based on Saturday’s scores. In the event of a pairings conflict for gross or net on Sunday, players with handicap of six or less will be designated gross players and 7 or above net players.
Each member must post his scores for this event in the computer as a (T) tournament.

 

 

Four-Ball (Make up your own foursome)

Monday, May 25th  - 8:00 Shotgun  (Chairman: Dan Brunell)
Open to all Primary Members - The format will be 1 best ball on the par 4’s, 2 best balls on the par 5’s, and 3 best balls on the par 3’s  90% handicap.  $8.00 entry fee

 

 

Member-Member Championship

Saturday & Sunday, June 6 & 7  - Tee Times  (Chairman: Peter Mulligan)
You may select your own partner or the Golf Shop will pair you.  The field is divided into two flights and gross & net winners are awarded in each flight.  Trophy Event

 

 

Governor’s Cup

Qualifying: June 12 – 14 (Co-Chairmen: Greg Wolff & Chris Schrank)

Round One: June 15 – July 3; Round 2: July 4 – July 21; Semifinals: July 25th Finals: July 26th  
This Trophy event is a gross, individual match play event.  In order to qualify you must sign-up with the pro shop prior to your round.  Qualifying on Friday may be any time during the day, but must be played with a primary golf member.
Rounds played on Saturday and Sunday must be played during the traditional morning hours.
The field will be comprised of the low 15 qualifiers and the defending champion, Dave Blovish.  Matches must be completed by the dates listed above (NO EXCEPTIONS).  Inability to complete a match within the dates above will result in a forfeit for both players.

The Semi-Finals will take place in a foursome with both matches. The Finals will be played in a two-some. Both the semi’s and finals will be played at approx. 8:00 AM. 
Each member must post his scores for this event in the computer as a (T) tournament.

President’s Cup

Qualifying: June 25 - 28; First Round: June 29 – July 22  (Co-Chairmen: Greg Wolff & Dan Brunell)
Second Round: July 23 – August 18; Quarterfinals: August 19 – September 8 |Semifinals: September 12th - Finals: September 13th

This Trophy event is an individual match play with handicap off the low ball in the match. In order to qualify you must sign-up with the pro shop prior to your round.  If you choose to qualify on either Saturday or Sunday, you must play during the traditional morning hours.  You may qualify all day on Wednesday-Thursday if playing with a primary golf member. Defending champion, Peter Walch, and the Low 31 net scores will advance from qualifying to match play.  Matches must be completed by the dates listed above (NO EXCEPTIONS).  In the event of conflict, the Tournament Committee will be consulted, and their decision will be final.
The Semi-Finals will take place in a foursome with both matches. The Finals will be played in a two-some.  Both the semi’s and finals will be played at approx. 8:00 AM. 
Each member must post his scores for this event in the computer as a (T) tournament.

 

 

Member-Member Two-Ball

Saturday, July 4th  - 8:00 Shotgun  (Chairman: Chris Schrank)

This event will be a two-man best ball with two exceptions:  You and your partner’s scores on
holes 4 and 7 will be combined.  Players select their own partners and make own foursome. 
There will be gross and net divisions.  Entry fee is $8.00 per person.

Senior Championship

Saturday & Sunday, July 18 & 19  – Rain date: July 25th    (Co-Chairmen: Peter Mulligan & Dan Brunell
This is a Trophy event, which consists of two flights.
The Championship Flight will determine the Senior Club Champion (gross) and will be played from the white tee markers by players ages 50 through 69, and those players age 70 and older who wish to compete in the Championship Flight, provided that such players also compete from the white markers.  The low gross player age 60 or older will be recognized and the low net player age 60 or older will also be recognized.  Any player age 65 through 69 who has an established Gold Tee Handicap and who competes in this event from the gold tees will be competing for net only.
The Legends Gold Flight will be played from the gold markers for gross and net prizes by players who are ages 70 and higher.  The handicap of any player competing in this flight who does not have an established Gold Tee Handicap will be properly converted for the purposes of the event.

Each member must post his scores for this event in the computer as a (T) tournament.

Flight Championships

Saturday & Sunday, August 1 & 2 – Rain date: August 15 & 16  (Chairman: Jim Connors)
This is the Club Championship Trophy event for the handicapped divisions.  It is a 36-hole, stroke play event with flights of 12 based on handicap.  There will also be a “Gold Tee” flight for individuals who have an established gold tee handicap.  The Golf Shop will arrange pairings, with Sunday’s foursomes based on Saturday’s results.  Participants in the Flight championships are not eligible to compete in the Club Championship. 
Each member must post his scores for this event in the computer as a (T) tournament.

 

 

Men’s Club Championship

Saturday & Sunday, August 8 & 9 - Rain date: Aug. 15 & 16 (Co-Chairmen: Frank Leone & Jim Connors)
The Championship is a 54-hole stroke play event that is played over two days from the blue tees.  The event is open to Primary members with a handicap of 6 or lower.  Non-Primary male members, with a handicap of 6 or less that did not make the cut last year, must qualify for the event.
The qualifying will be held on Saturday, July 25th starting at 1:30.  The rain date will be on Sunday, July 26th.  Play will be from the blue markers and the low fifty percent (plus ties) of those who try to qualify will earn a place in the championship. 
*Past Club Champions receive a lifetime exemption as long as they are full golf members.
The field will be reduced to the top low 20 scores plus ties after 27 holes.   
Each member must post his scores for this event in the computer as a (T) tournament.

 

 

9th Annual Bob Sheaffer Putting Contest

The tournament is open to full golf members.  The format is a two-ball, nine-hole match play format.

Saturday, Sunday & Monday, August 22-24 (Chairman; Greg Wolff & Frank Leone)
Flights of six team determined by combined handicap will play 5 nine hole matches. Two matches will be played on Saturday and two on Sunday.  The final nine-hole match will be played on Monday with a 5:00 shotgun start with dinner to follow.  The committee will arrange tee times.
* Friday Night Para mutual and Flight Betting Pool – Dinner Optional with reservations.

 

 

Labor Day Four-Ball

Sunday, September 6th,   - 8:00 Shotgun  (Chairman: Chris Cerrato)

Open to all Primary Members - Please make your own foursome for this holiday event.  The format will be the one best ball of the foursome on all holes, except progressively higher on par threes (1 BB on #4, 2BB on #7, 3BB on #15, and 4BB on #17).  Entry fee will be $8.00 per player.  90% of handicap

Friday & Saturday, October 2 & 3 – 1:00 shotgun both days (Chairmen: Tim Heaney)
This is a member-guest event. The golf format is 36-holes, better ball of two. Dinner will follow Friday’s play. Hors doeuvres and awards presentation will conclude the event on Saturday evening.
